The much awaited solo album “Volume 1” by Queensrÿche founding guitarist Michael “Whip” Wilton will be released by Rat Pak Records on December 6th. Together with drummer Sonny Sudra, bassist “Hodgy,” and vocalist Mark Winterman, a formidable force in Seattle, Michael delivers nine songs that are evocative of his signature sound. With its tasty riffs, appealing melodies, and reflective solos, “Volume 1″—mixed and mastered by Chris “Zeuss” Harris (Queensrÿche, Rob Zombie, Shadows Fall)—captures Michael’s capacity to think creatively while retaining his distinctive sound. It is evident that Wilton’s signature style serves as the foundation for this masterfully composed work, from the opening chords of “People Suffer” to the concluding piece “Drowning At Daybreak.“
