A new two-part collection has been created by Metallica in collaboration with Dr. Martens, a British apparel and footwear brand, as per Blabbermouth. Today (Thursday, January 29) marks the release of the first part of the collection, which features graphics from two of Metallica’s historic 1980s world tours: the 1986 “Damage Inc.” tour and the 1989 “Damaged Justice” tour. The second part reimagines the 1460 boot with a black-on-black version that is exclusive to Metallica and has “5th Member” on the shoelaces and a Metallica logo on the ankle. Metallica refers to its followers as the “5th Member” since they are an essential component of the band.
Formed in 1981, Metallica are still releasing albums that stand as cultural landmarks for a band that continues to grow and redefine itself.
