Metallica celebrates the 30th anniversary of “The Black Album” this year with a deluxe re-release. Throughout the year, the band has been releasing samples from their remastered Grammy Award-winning album, due out on 10 September. Now it’s time for another release.

This time it’s an early demo version of “My Friend Of Misery“, reportedly from the riff tapes by the band’s then-bassist Jason Newsted.

In addition, an interpretation of the song by one of the biggest names in contemporary jazz, Kamasi Washington, has been released, which will be featured on the forthcoming cover album ‘The Metallica Blacklist’.
