Boy oh boy is 2026 looking fabulous for Metallica. The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada appears to be the next frontier for the current thrash metal monarchs. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers are planning a run of fall 2026 gigs at the unusual facility, which features wraparound displays and 4D effects, according to a number of media that have been covering the story recently, including Vital Vegas. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter in May of last year if the band would consider playing at The Sphere, Kirk Hammett previously stated that he was amenable to the notion.
Oh, heck, yeah! That’s a great example of how venues are changing. That’s using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience.
Although there hasn’t been any official word yet that the band would perform at the ground-breaking facility, industry rumors have been swirling that the booking appears to be fairly secure right now.
