During the band’s July 5th performance in London, England, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist/vocalist Robert Trujillo honoured a few local musical idols, as per theprp. Their most recent “doodle” produced covers of Sex Pistols‘ “Holidays In The Sun” and Black Sabbath‘s “Electric Funeral.” Given that it was the first anniversary of “Back To The Beginning,” Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne‘s farewell gig, it was appropriate to include an homage to Sabbath. During that festival, which turned out to be Ozzy’s last live performance before his untimely death, Metallica was one of the distinguished guests who honoured the aforementioned metal titans. At “Back To The Beginning,” Metallica performed a version of Black Sabbath‘s “Hole In The Sky.“
