A Metallica concert in Goodview, Virginia is being credited by a family for saving their life. In an attempt to attend the band’s May 7th performance at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia, the McKee family altered their usual schedule to arrive early. Instead of watching TV in the front room late, David and Kristin McKee went to bed to obtain a good night’s sleep so they could take their daughter to the play the following day. The identical room they would have been sitting in if they hadn’t planned to attend the show was struck by a pickup truck that crashed through the front of their house at 2:00 am on the day of the concert. Since then, the family has acknowledged that their lives were saved by the thrash metal titan’s performance. It seems that the family was unable to attend the show because of the accident’s pandemonium. The following report on the accident and the tragic show was released by WDBJ7.
