French dark rock quartet Messalina have released their new single “No Color,” a collaboration with Doodseskader frontman Tim De Gieter. The track lands as the third taste of the band’s debut EP “Golden Wounds,” due May 22, 2026.
Hailing from Nice on the Bay of Angels, Messalina draw on doom, metal, and grunge influences. The group take their name from the controversial Roman empress Messalina. Notably, the lineup brings together familiar faces from the French extreme scene. JB Le Bail handles vocals and guitar, while Rémi Serafino sits behind the kit. Both also play in Svart Crown and Igorrr. Aymen Mahjoubi rounds out the group on guitar and vocals, with Alexis Fedunizin on bass.
The single arrives with a black and white music video. According to Le Bail, he first met Tim De Gieter while the latter was touring with Amenra, and the connection made the guest spot feel natural once work on the song began. De Gieter, for his part, said the invitation came at the right moment and that the two musical worlds met in a way he found compelling.
“No Color” is out now on streaming platforms.
