“Tipping Point” is the first single from Megadeth‘s upcoming self-titled album, which is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, as blabbermouth.net reports. The band has shared behind-the-scenes video from the creation of the official music video for the song. Take a look below. Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label will release the follow-up to 2022’s “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” under Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint, frontman of Megadeth. Megadeth said on August 14 that their next album would be their final one. In 2026, the band lead by Dave Mustaine will likewise go on a final tour. In the meantime, they’ve announced a series of festival appearances including Tuska festival in Helsinki. Mustaine celebrated the band’s influence on the music industry and thanked fans for their love and devotion in a press release announcing Megadeth’s final album and farewell tour.
Before Dave’s recognizable voice eerily enters, the sonically explosive and thematically unflinching song “Tipping Point” begins with a tremendous guitar solo. The band performs in the same prison while Dave is imprisoned and subjected to severe torture in the bleak yet hopeful accompanying video, which was directed by Leonardo Liberti. Ultimately, Dave endures evil and moves on to a new day.
Chris Rakestraw, a producer, mixer, and engineer who had worked on Megadeth’s previous two LPs, the 2016 album “Dystopia” and the previously stated “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!”, collaborated with the band once more on their final album. Two years ago, Teemu Mäntysaari, who plays guitar, joined Megadeth. He replaced guitarist Kiko Loureiro, who was born in Brazil, who declared in September 2023 that he would miss the next leg of Megadeth’s “Crush The World” tour to be with his kids in Finland. Later, it was disclosed that the now 38-year-old Finnish musician would be playing guitar for Megadeth for some time to come, with no indication that Loureiro would be returning.
