“Matt Tuck didn’t want to do it” – Bullet For My Valentine & Trivium joint tour to end prematurely

During a joint press conference last year, Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium revealed their plans for an extensive joint tour, “The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour,” throughout 2025. Both bands were planning to hit significant 20-year milestones: Trivium with their sophomore album “Ascendancy,” while Bullet For My Valentine celebrated their gold-certified debut album “The Poison.” Although the groups had originally stated that they would be touring all parts of the world, the nearly finished North American leg of the run, following Europe and the UK earlier this year, will be the last.

While there hasn’t been any professional announcement as to why the tour won’t be expanding into South America and Australia as planned, Trivium bassist/vocalist Paolo Gregoletto took to a social media livestream to share his statements on the matter, saying:

“Matt Tuck [Bullet For My Valentine] didn’t want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works — don’t know why. I think it would have been amazing. I think “The Poison” is a great album. I think the two records pair very well together. And I think it would have been nice to give everyone around the world a chance to see the two together. But we are going to do North America on our own with other bands. And we will have a lot of special surprises, just because we will [now] have more time to do stuff, so, that’s what it is.”

As a result of Gregoletto’s comments, tensions have risen between fan communities of the bands, with disapproving comments being made towards his statement on the early ending – only for Trivium to reply with “He’s the sole decision maker of the band and he has no respect for us or our crew.”

As things continue to pan out, we can assume that the final remaining four dates of the tour will be the last for these two bands together.
