A 12-inch picture disc pressing of Marilyn Manson‘s rendition of Phil Collins‘ three-time platinum smash song from 1981, “In the Air Tonight,” is available exclusively on Black Friday, as reported by theprp. This most recent addition to the controversial shock rocker’s expanding collection of 80s covers, which also features songs by the Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, and Tainted Love, was first released in April. He is not the first well-known metal group to attempt the song; Nonpoint had some success with it in the early 2000s and was even included in the movie version of the popular TV show “Miami Vice” from the 1980s. The song has also been covered by the multi-platinum alternative metal group In This Moment.
Limited to 5,000 copies, this special pressing is currently available through Nuclear Blast and is not part of the official Record Store Day schedule. The song “As Sick As The Secrets Of (Sleep)” serves as the B-side for this new 12-inch version, just like it did for the original CD. It is available for purchase at mm.bfan.link/in-the-air-tonight.
Marilyn Manson is prepared to concentrate on the next chapter after making a successful comeback in 2024 with the publication of his twelfth studio album, “One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1,” and the touring that followed. Although that phrase is frequently used metaphorically, it is currently being utilized literally because he has recently hinted that the second chapter of the aforementioned record will be released “very soon.” Although Manson‘s career in the music business has rarely been without controversy, more than a dozen women accused him of sexual misconduct and assault in 2021. He was shunned as a result of those accusations, and his management, label, and talent agent all dropped him.
Some of those accusations have since been heard in court, while others are still pending. Manson, for his part, has openly refuted the accusations made against him. However, the effects of those accusations and court cases are still being felt. This year, local politicians and activists criticized two of his UK performances, and protests occurred during another tour in Mexico.
