Manfred Schütz of SPV has passed away

After a protracted and severe illness, Manfred Schütz, the creator of SPV and the managing director of MIG Music, died on January 3rd, 2025, at the age of 74. Manfred was a major influence in the music business. By establishing SPV in 1984, he established a platform that allowed independent labels and artists to become well-known throughout the world. For many years, SPV was the biggest independent music distributor in Europe and developed into one of the most important organizations in the independent label industry, especially in the rock, metal, and electronic sectors. Following his departure from SPV, Manfred established MIG Music with the goal of saving musical gems from extinction. Numerous outstanding releases have been made possible by his vast musical expertise. On behalf of the Chaoszine team, we offer his family and his loved ones our deepest sympathies.
