Vocalist Lukas Magyar has publicly confirmed his departure from the progressive metalcore ensemble Veil Of Maya, as per theprp. The band officially announced a hiatus in September 2024, coinciding with guitarist Marc Okubo assuming the role of a touring musician for the multi-platinum alternative metal band Falling In Reverse.
Magyar has redirected his full musical endeavors towards SIFYN, removing his vocalist credentials from Veil Of Maya from his Instagram biography. Additionally, he stated via Instagram commentary that he is no longer affiliated with Veil Of Maya.
In response to a fan inquiry regarding the band’s future, Magyar explicitly stated, “if you do, it won’t be with me,” indicating his decision to part ways and concentrate on SIFYN. Another interaction revealed Magyar’s remark, “I had to step away and focus on other things,” suggesting a definitive departure.
Currently, there is no definitive indication that Veil Of Maya will resume activities, aside from a January 2025 post by Okubo, which hinted, “When veil comes back it will be the heavy version.” The band’s initial hiatus statement also expressed an intention to return.
In light of Magyar’s exit, Okubo’s comments may be interpreted differently, potentially implying the possibility of a reunion involving one of Magyar’s predecessors. However, whether this was the intended implication remains uncertain.
