Following from the release of brand new album “Battlestation”, French artist Lucie Sue is launching the new video for the focus track “BELA”.
The track is a unique genre-bending, dark cinematic metal piece that defies all songwriting conventions: no chorus, no verses, just a full haunting and powerful musical journey inspired by Béla Bartók and transylvanian «Bucsumí tánc» dance, reimagined through Lucie Sue’s beautiful & visceral metal energy.
In Lucie’s own words:
‘BELA’ isn’t just a song, it’s a statement: cinematic, feral, bold, and emotionally devastating. It caps off a bold artistic vision that’s already connecting across Europe and the US.
“BELA” is accompanied by a full music video, available here
Inspired by F.W Murnau’s Nosferatu & Tod Browning’s Dracula, “BELA” is a tribute to vampire’s movies. Falling into the public domain, excerpts from these mythical films are blended with Lucie Sue‘s modern edge. The footage is intentionally aged and glitched, and the special effects embrace the kitsch charm of those old-school films. It’s a family affair : Lucie Sue‘s dad plays Bela, and her brothers handled all the camera work and technical stuff.
“Bela” is the final, most explosive chapter of a 8-month long release saga built around Lucie Sue’s new record “Battlestation”. The album is a one-of-a-kind collection of 13 tracks, each leading you to a different universe. “Battlestation” is an invitation to an eclectic journey. Lucie Sue refuses to be boxed in; she thrives on daring mixes and surprising fusions: a blend of 90s Grunge, Hard Rock, Metal, with a classical twist!
