LiVES return with blistering new single ‘Burn’, taken from their forthcoming album “Ghosts” (due for release 29/01/27). “Burn” is the follow-up to their hugely critically acclaimed album “Let Them Eat Cake”. “Burn” sees a return to the heavy riffs and big choruses LiVES have become known for, with their trademark socio-political lyrics again in full force. Lyrically, “Burn” tackles the disgusting nature of international arms dealers and the arms trade.
Born in Cornwall and sharpened in Kent, LiVES are a visceral, white-knuckle collision of post-punk fury and hard rock precision. Their debut album “Let Them Eat Cake”, produced by the legendary John Cornfield (Oasis, Muse, Supergrass), arrived like a fist through a wall. Louder Than War called it “a nihilistic expression of anger and disillusionment”.
Their track “Just Can’t Get Enough” found a wider audience via its placement on the hit Netflix series Lucifer, but LiVES have always been a live proposition first, a band that earns its stripes on stage. A sold out European headline tour in 2025, plus support slots alongside Buzzcocks, Span and Danny Wildheart & The Uk Reprobates, confirmed what anyone who has seen them already knows.
With BBC support already behind them, LiVES return with their heaviest, darkest work to date. New album “Ghosts” lands on Sister 9 Records early next year, recorded across three studios – Tywardreath Studios in Cornwall, Albion Rooms in Margate and Anglet Studios in France, and produced by John Cornfield once again.
“Burn” is the first taste of what’s to come, heavy, dark and lyrically uncompromising. The anger hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s just been sharpened.
