Live TV gets uncomfortable as Kid Rock hits on BBC journalist

Kid Rock’s effort to flirt with a host during a live TV interview on January 20 made viewers wince. The “All Summer Long” singer (real name Robert James Ritchie) interrupted a BBC News interview about Donald Trump’s second inauguration by telling Irish reporter Caitríona Perry that she had a “sexy” voice. As the interview comes to a close, the musician asks reporter Perry where she is.

I’m standing on a rooftop in these very very chilly conditions. We’ll be on air for 12 hours so I don’t think I’ll have anywhere near as fun a day as you have planned for yourself! Caitríona Perry

The reporter then responds to this after informing Perry that he couldn’t see her and, as a result, didn’t know how she looked—something that is obviously crucial.

I look like I’m ready to hit the slopes here I can tell you. I’m in full-on ski gear here with my hat, gloves, the whole thing, ready to rock because you’ve got to be wrapped up against the elements don’t you. Caitríona Perry

I love to go skiing. You sound sexy, you want to go with me? Kid Rock

Well we won’t get into that right here! We’re doing no skiing here, we’ve got a day of broadcasting to do. Caitríona Perry

Longtime Trump supporter Kid Rock gave a performance at the Make America Great Again Rally at Capital One Arena on January 19. The musician made a joke before his show about the Secret Service forbidding him from using strippers on stage. On Fox & Friends, Kid Rock disclosed that Trump then called him to inquire if the agency had actually limited the usage of musicians wearing skimpy attire.

Friday morning I got a call from the President and Melania and it was kind of mind-blowing, I’ve tried to leave him alone, he’s got a lot on his plate, I would think, right now. He called and he goes, ‘Did the Secret Service really tell you that you can’t use strippers? No, sir, I was just joking around.
