In a recent Halloween-themed film, Kelly Osbourne sent a cheeky tribute to her late father, Ozzy Osbourne, by depicting her son chomping the head off a “bat.” As reported by UCR, on TikTok, Osbourne shared a video of her kid Sidney, who is almost three years old and whose father is Sid Wilson of Slipknot. As Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train” plays, the video shows Sidney smiling broadly while holding the head of a stuffed bat between his teeth and plucking it neatly off the body.
The video’s wholesomeness was praised by viewers, who also pointed out Sidney and Ozzy‘s similarities in the comments section. On January 20, 1982, Osbourne was performing at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa, when he had his notorious bat-biting episode. The artist shocked and delighted the thousands of people in attendance when he sank his fangs into a dead bat that 17-year-old concertgoer Mark Neal hurled onto the stage and tore off its head. Osbourne, to his credit, believed he was getting a fake bat, but he soon realized his mistakes.
For a start, my mouth was instantly full of this warm, gloopy liquid, with the worst aftertaste you could ever imagine. I could feel it staining my teeth and running down my chin.
After the performance, Osbourne was sent to the hospital for rabies vaccinations, and he remained on the receiving end of the tour. Even though it caused some temporary agony, the stunt became an unavoidable aspect of Osbourne‘s mythology, to the point where his grandson is currently beheading the plush bat that is offered for sale on the singer’s website.
Sidney isn’t scared of Sid Wilson’s mask when he performs with Slipknot.
No. I thought he was going to [be scared of it], and it’s something that we introduced very slowly and we waited until he was at least a year old. But as soon as [Wilson] puts the mask on, he finds it so hilarious. When he sees all his uncles backstage in the masks, he loves it, he’s not scared. But if the Easter Bunny or Mickey Mouse came up to him, or The Grinch, he’d absolutely shit himself. Yeah! He did with Father Christmas. There’s something about the guys in Slipknot that he loves. I guess it’s because he knows the guys behind the mask. I dunno, it’s really cute. He just grabs onto his dad when he sees him in the mask, it’s really sweet.
