Belgian grindcore band Leng Tch’e have released “Hammered into Collapse,” their first new material since 2017’s “Razorgrind.” The track dropped via Season of Mist alongside an official music video, ending a near decade of silence.
The band calls their mix of grindcore, death metal, stoner rock, and metalcore “razorgrind.” “Hammered into Collapse” builds around the image of a parasite feeding on its host for twenty years. That reckoning with wasted time then tightens into a repeated, mechanical refrain. The single also sets the tone for an upcoming EP of the same name, which will include another new track called “Voided.”
Leng Tch’e recorded the single at Hearse Studio with engineer Lander Cluyse. Taylor Young mixed it at The Pit Recording Studio, and Brad Boatright mastered it at Audiosiege. Young has worked with God’s Hate, Full of Hell, and Vitriol.
Formed in 2001, Leng Tch’e built their name through the mid-2000s on Spew and Relapse Records. Their discography includes “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “ManMadePredator,” “The Process of Elimination,” and “Marasmus.” However, drummer Sven De Caluwé’s departure in 2007 left the band without any founding members. Despite that, “Razorgrind” earned recognition in grind circles as their strongest work since the transition. Leng Tch’e have since continued playing live across Europe and the UK.
