Author Benedetta Baldin - 22.1.2026

The explosive drummer of Grammy-nominated band Sleep Token, II, has signed with Kobalt, the top independent music publisher in the world, as per Blabbermouth. II, a major songwriter for Sleep Token and well-known for his potent yet subtle drumming style, contributes a special fusion of technical mastery and emotional depth that has become essential to the band’s distinctive sound and enthralling live performances. After Sleep Token’s single “Caramel” was named one of the “Best Songs Of 2025” by The New York Times and the band saw unparalleled crossover success with the entirety of “Even In Arcadia” hitting on the Billboard Hot 100, the Kobalt deal comes after a historic era.

In addition, the album debuted at the top of the U.K. official albums chart and the Billboard 200. It also held the top spot on Billboard’s Top Album Sales, Top Streaming Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales charts. It also had the biggest streaming week for a hard rock album. “Even In Arcadia” peaked at number one internationally in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Austria, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The band’s worldwide recognition and impact in heavy music have never been greater after these achievements.

What a privilege to be part of this incredible band that has taken the world by storm, also to be working with Welsh legend Ryan Richards is the best. With so many Sleep Token fans already at Kobalt it’s an honour for us all to protect and serve the songs. – Kenny McGoff, EVP head of creative UK and GSA, Kobalt

II became well-known as Sleep Token’s drummer and primary songwriter, directing the group’s rhythmic structure. His studio work combines elements of modern metal with jazz, electronic, and cinematic percussion to create a rhythmic voice that is unmatched in heavy music today. It features carefully constructed rhythmic motifs, percussive textures, and grooves that carry as much emotional weight as musical complexity.
