King Diamond says he met rap star Post Malone at a Slayer concert and didn’t know who he was: “It was only later that I found out he was this huge star, far bigger than I’ll ever be”

Rap star Post Malone is also known to be a metal fan – after all, the rapper has a background in playing guitar in metal bands. So it’s no surprise that Post Malone – real name Austin Post – has been going to thrash metal legends Slayer’s concerts.

One of Slayer’s concerts was also attended by Danish metal veteran King Diamond and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett. The trio posed for a photo backstage.

However, according to King Diamond himself, he had no idea who Post Malone was and only found out afterwards.

“I did meet Post Malone backstage at a Slayer concert,” Diamond told Metal Hammer. “It was funny, because he got a picture with me and I didn’t know who he was. It was only later that I found out he was this huge star, far bigger than I’ll ever be. I don’t know much about new music – the closest I get is Volbeat.”
