King 810 have become notorious for music that explores the darkest corners of life in a town renowned for its crime and poverty statistics. With a sound that blends everything from crushing nu-metal riffs and twisted alt-rock, to experimental hip-hop, electronica and dark jazz, they stand alone as true originals, proudly apart from the common modern metal herd.

Although the four members of the band had been performing together and building a fan base prior to the band’s official formation in December 2007 in Flint, Michigan, their hometown. Frontman and singer David Gunn, bassist Eugene Gill, drummer Andrew Workman, and guitarist Andrew Beal made comprised the group. In a Metal Hammer documentary, David Gunn disclosed that he began penning lyrics for the band while he was incarcerated. He finally applied those lyrics to the band, which had already established a sound he recognized, so he modified the lyrics to fit that style.
