Killswitch Engage drops new track “Blood Upon The Ashes” for upcoming charity compilation

The iconic US metalcore powerhouse Killswitch Engage has just released a brand-new song titled “Blood Upon The Ashes”. The track is part of the upcoming benefit compilation album “The Dogs of Hope”, and it officially dropped on June 4, 2025. You can now stream it on YouTube and Spotify.

Unlike the songs featured on their latest studio album “This Consequence”, which came out in February, “Blood Upon The Ashes” was written exclusively for this special release. The compilation, due out August 1st, 2025, via Iodine Recordings, will donate 100% of its proceeds to support the Randolph County Animal Shelter in Alabama.

Alongside Killswitch Engage, the album will feature tracks from other hardcore and metalcore staples like Snapcase, Deadguy, and Orange 9mm.

“Blood Upon The Ashes” brings the band’s signature melodic metalcore to the forefront — blending crushing riffs with Jesse Leach’s emotionally charged vocals. Fans have already praised the song, comparing it to the group’s early-era material, particularly the 2002 classic “Alive or Just Breathing”.
