I don’t know about you, but those two exclusive kickoff performances have some pretty good lineup! In any case, except these, so far Kamelot has just announced selected festival shows for 2026.
In 1987, guitarist Thomas Youngblood founded the band “Camelot” in Florida, with Dirk Van Tilborg on bass and keyboards, Rob Beck on vocals, and Richard Warner on drums. Youngblood’s mother first proposed this name because she adored John F. Kennedy. Youngblood and Warner’s composition “Breaking The Silence” was recorded for Tampa Bay’s Metal Mercenaries: The Invasion, a cassette compilation of different Tampa Bay heavy metal bands produced by Keith “Thumper” Collins (formerly Savatage’s bassist), in 1988. In 1991, Rob Beck was replaced on vocals by Mark Vanderbilt, Dirk Van Tilborg departed the band, and Sean Tibbetts (then known as Sean Christians) joined as bass guitarist.
