Kaaos Unplugged: DIRT @ On the Rocks – a semi-acoustic show & interview with the new Finnish rock band DIRT

Author Annija Raga - 16.6.2021

You might know the guys from the Finnish death/trash metal band Nuclear Omnicide, but now, after finding the right lead singer, the musicians have formed a new rock band named DIRT. The band has already released an EP “Low Life” and, after playing shows all around Finland, the musicians have made a name for themselves as one of the most promising, new up-and-coming Finnish rock bands.

The name of the band, though, is not to be associated with the album “Dirt” by Alice In Chains or the movie about Mötley Crüe. The real explanation is as it follows:

” The main reason why we came up with the name DIRT is that when we were writing more material and seeing that the music is forming to a more raw and dirtier sound, we decided that DIRT would be a very fitting name.”

Alex Anttila

When asked about the debut album, the musicians told that the listeners are in for an adventure: the album has a raw and straightforward heavy hard rock sound as well as some tuned-down songs:

” The upcoming album is more versatile than the EP. These are some of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written, but you can also hear a softer side of DIRT. In general, it’s just MORE, and we wanted to sound like nobody else but us.”

Sebastian Frigren

The debut album is scheduled for release in early 2022, and new music is going to see the daylight already this year. In the meanwhile you can watch the full show and listen to the semi-acoustic versions of two singles from the upcoming album here:
