Former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing will release the debut album of his new band KK’s Priest entitled “Sermon Of The Sinner” on August 20th via Explorer1 Music Group. The band’s lineup is rounded out by former Judas Priest singer Tim “Ripper” Owens, bassist Tony Newton (Voodoo Six) and drummer Sean Elg (Deathrides, Cage).
Chaoszine recently caught up with K.K. Downing via Zoom to discuss about the formation of KK’s Priest, the creation of “Sermon Of The Sinner”, the closed door to Judas Priest and how far is already the process for the band’s second album. K.K. Downing said in the interview that he wrote the upcoming debut album just in four weeks and he has the outline also for the band’s second album almost done. Downing had the following to say about creative process:
In December 2020 I started writing an album which would eventually became KK’s Priest debut album and I wrote the whole thing in four weeks. I pretty much have the outline ready song-wise also for the next record as well.
