Ashley Walters, the former personal assistant of Marilyn Manson (also known as Brian Warner), has been successful in resurrecting her complaint against the controversial shock rocker for sexual assault that was earlier dismissed, as per theprp. Walters first filed a lawsuit against Manson in 2021, citing alleged incidents that occurred during his employment from August 2010 to July 2011. She accused Manson in that case of violating multiple Californian civil codes, causing emotional anguish, and engaging in sexual harassment, assault, and abuse.
Due to issues with the statute of limitations, the lawsuit was eventually dismissed in May 2022 and then appealed in December 2023. But in December of last year, the lawsuit was dismissed once more by the resident judge, who cited problems with the statute of limitations and legal questions about whether the delayed discovery applied to Walters’ case, which included allegations of repressed memories. After California passed AB 250 in 2026, Walters was able to effectively resurrect her lawsuit. Adult survivors of alleged sexual assault can now pursue their cases that were previously blocked by the statute of limitations thanks to a limited window of revival created by that law.
As a result, a follow-up hearing has been set for March 27. Howard King, Manson‘s attorney, informed Rolling Stone of this most recent update.
Ashley Walters has been given the right to pursue a narrow claim of sexual assault under the newly enacted law, a claim that will not survive the next motion for summary judgment. The undeniable fact is that Mr. Warner never committed any sexual assault.
