Just a few more months until the release of Europe’s documentary!

Europe drummer Ian Haugland provided an update on the band’s documentary, which the long-running Swedish hard rockers have been working on with producer/director Craig Hooper (Deep Purple, Saxon) for Coolhead Productions, in a recent interview with Metal Hammer España. The movie aims to portray Europe’s story from the band’s founding to the present. It will detail their ascent to fame in the middle of the 1980s, their journey through hardship and heartbreak, their return in the new millennium, and their recent triumphs. This is what Haugland stated, as reported and transcribed by blabbermouth.net.

Well, we’ve been working on it for many years now. It’s gonna be like a movie format, basically — well, lengthwise — it’s gonna be an hour and a half, I guess. And the plan is to get it out on the big streaming services like Netflix and all the others. But it’s gonna be out early next year. So next year is gonna be really busy for Europe because we have a new album and we have the documentary and we also have the 40th anniversary for ‘The Final Countdown’. So we’d better shape up. [Laughs] So it’s gonna be busy.
