Jonny Reeves, the bassist and vocalist, has announced his most recent departure from Kingdom of Giants, as per theprp. Reeves had returned to the Californian metalcore group in January 2024, but he was added to the Australian metalcore group The Amity Affliction last year to take Ahren Stringer’s spot. When asked about his current situation at Kingdom of Giants on a recently released episode of “The Downbeat Podcast,” Reeves responded as follows.

I’m not in the band anymore, as of last December, I would say… Things just were coming to a head where they’re just like, ‘We’ve got plans, and you’ve got other plans going on over here.’ And so it was kind of this, it’s [an] in my court decision. And I was just like, I don’t wanna hold them back from achieving their goals, but this [The Amity Affliction] aligns with the goals that I’m after. And with things just working so well with this group, it was really kind of a no-brainer.

Reeves responded as follows when Craig Reynolds, the podcast’s host, enquired about any animosity around the breakup.

They’re disappointed.

Reeves continued, “There’s no bad beef from my end,” despite the suggestion that the separation may not have been amicable. Reeves has now settled down with The Amity Affliction, touring with them and contributing to their recently released ninth studio album, “House of Cards.”
