On October 3, VIMIC will honor their late bandmate Joey Jordison with a reunion performance at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles. Following the death of the aforementioned former Slipknot drummer in 2021, his family and other VIMIC members decided to proceed with this crowdfunding effort in order to release the band’s long-shelved first album, “Open Your Omen.” Before preparations for the record were shelved, first in part because co-producer Kato Khandwala died in a motorbike accident and then after Jordison’s eventual death, four singles from that record came out. The Joey Jordison Charitable Fund, which will collaborate with the nonprofit Broken Strings in Jordison’s home state of Iowa, will benefit from the proceeds of the next concert. By providing drums to worthy children in school districts, that fund seeks to carry on Jordison’s legacy. This next live celebration will be opened by Jordison’s Murderdolls bandmate Wednesday 13, with unnamed special guests scheduled to join. This Friday, June 6th, is when concert tickets will go on sale.
