Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage: “I’m not that fond of the metalcore style, it’s not something I listen to”

Jesse Leach, vocalist of Killswitch Engage, recently joined the Talk Toomey Podcast to discuss his return to Killswitch Engage, Times Of Grace‘s forthcoming album “Songs Of Loss And Separation” (out 16 July) and other music-related topics.

An interesting discussion evolved when Leach shared his thoughts on metalcore genre – a genre of which Killswitch Engage has been known of. In the podcast the vocalist revealed that he’s not that big of a fan of metalcore:

“ I don’t really like the metalcore style, it’s not something I enjoy listening. The sing-songy with the yelling-screaming… I was a part of helping to develop that sound, but it’s not something I like to listen to. I don’t give a sh*t about it. I love metal, don’t get me wrong, but I’m more of a death metal dude, old school death metal – that’s the sh*t that I like. ”
