Argentinian solo artist Jesi Vila has released a new cut entitled “Soy Invisible“. Listen to the track below.
The song is taken from the singer’s upcoming EP.
Vila states: “What is ‘Soy invisible’ about? Well, at first listen it might seem like a song about heartbreak, but it’s not. It’s a song about those friends who break your heart. But not in a romantic way. I think we give much more importance to a partner breaking our heart, hurting us, but we never talk about the friends who hurt us. Friends can also disappoint us, hurt us, break our hearts and, sometimes, make us feel invisible“.
The Rosario-born artist adds: “More than once, with more than one person, I felt that my friendship with X person only existed because I was the one who cared, and that on the other side it didn’t matter whether I was there or not. I believe that having your
heart broken by a friend hurts just as much as having it broken by a partner“.
“‘Soy Invisible’ talks about that moment of disappointment when you think: ‘Hey, I gave so much for you, why are you making me feel bad?’ I think that beyond what inspired the song, ‘Soy invisible’ represents that ugly feeling of disappointment, of loneliness. The discomfort can come from a friend, a family member, or a partner. It doesn’t matter“.
“We all feel invisible at some point, and then we get over it. My way of doing it was to turn it into a song. It’s a dark, sad song, full of things. Very different from the previous one, but made with a lot of work, the same passion and the same love“, she concludes.
“Soy Invisible” was recorded by Jesi Vila on vocals and piano, Enzo Estudia on guitar, Von Reth on bass, and Nico Humeniuk on drums. Mixing and mastering were done by Pilart Music Studio. Photography and artwork were by Héctor Vila, and recording assistance was provided by Bianca Vila Luna.
