Jay Weinberg joins Suicidal Tendencies as their new drummer

Jay Weinberg, the former drummer of Slipknot, has officially announced his joining of Suicidal Tendencies.

In a recent social media post, the 33-year-old musician, who is based in Nashville, expressed his deep connection to the heavy music culture, citing Suicidal Tendencies as a pivotal influence since his early days of embracing punk, metal, and hardcore.

Weinberg reflected on the privilege of touring and forming friendships with the members of Suicidal Tendencies, whom he considers musical heroes. He expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to play with the band, describing it as an absolute honor and privilege.

The drummer is set to make his debut with Suicidal Tendencies during a two-date Japanese tour on March 14 in Osaka and March 16 in Chiba. Following this, the band is scheduled to perform at the No Values festival in Pomona, California, on June 8, with additional European festival dates lined up for June and July.
