Jane’s Addiction has cancelled the remainder of their 2024 tour and declared a hiatus in a new statement, citing the turmoil that transpired over the weekend. Frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro got into a physical altercation during the band’s Sept. 13th Boston show. Crew members helped the vocalist off the stage, and the next day the band apologized on social media for the incident. The band declared in the post that their Sept. 15th gig in Bridgeport, Connecticut, would not be happening. But the band has cancelled the remainder of the tour and announced that they are taking a hiatus as a group in two fresh announcements that they posted on social media. The initial plan was for the tour to end in Los Angeles on October 16th.
A second statement was posted by Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins in a post on his personal Instagram account.
After his Boston breakdown on Monday, Farrell also issued a clear and open apology to his fellow musicians.
This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends or my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.
