James Hetfield of Metallica rejects influencer culture and politics at Sphere show

Metallica‘s vocalist and guitarist, James Hetfield, recently emphasized that their live performances do not accommodate ‘influencer’ antics or, presumably, political opinions, as per theprp. During their October 10th concert at The Sphere in Las Vegas, NV, he addressed the audience with this statement.

Unless you live in Vegas, you’ve come a long way to spend some time with Metallica. We’re grateful for that — your travels, the money you spend, the time it took, thanks for coming to celebrate with us. And I just gotta say, Metallica is not here, like some other ‘entertainers’, to influence you with their bullshit, OK? We are here — no bullshit — we’re here to forget about all the outside shit, OK? Metallica’s agenda is love, energy and heavy music, baby!

Although Metallica is one of the most prominent bands globally, they have largely kept their political views separate from their artistic expression in recent years. Instead, they direct their external interests through their charitable organization, All Within My Hands.

This organization primarily supports local food banks in each city where the band performs. Additionally, the band participates in blood drives, contributes to disaster relief efforts, and funds educational initiatives, maintaining a non-partisan approach.
