James Hetfield of Metallica announces his engagement to Adriana Gillett
James Hetfield, the frontman of Metallica, made sure his engagement to Adriana Gillett was unforgettable, as per UCR. Hetfield proposed to Adriana Gillett while on an underwater scuba dive by holding up a sign that said, “Adriana Gillett, will you marry me?” The rock icon posted a picture of himself and Gillett under the sea on social media with the remark, “She said yes!” Gillett posted additional information about the proposal along with the same image on her Instagram feed. Hetfield, who was previously wed to costume designer Francesca Tomasi from 1997 until 2022, will be getting married for the second time.

Gillett was a correspondent for The Times before attending the University of Oxford. She was born in London. Afterwards, she transitioned from journalism to fashion and has been a designer for many years. When the couple first made their relationship public, Gillett’s 16-year age difference from Hetfield attracted attention. According to reports, the two began dating around 2023. Before returning to touring, Hetfield will have time to enjoy the fruits of his new engagement. The next Metallica performance is not planned until May 9 in Greece. The band will return to America in the autumn for a much-anticipated residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas following a journey across Europe.
