Brazilian thrash/death metal band Nervosa surprised their fans by announcing that founder and guitarist Prika Amaral was the group’s new singer following the departure of vocalist Diva Satanica, who recorded the previous album. The new move also comes with a new lineup and their upcoming album, “Jailbreak”, which will be released on September 29 via Napalm Records.
When “Perpetual Chaos” was released in 2021, it was already a new era for the band after the split from the classic lineup, but they had the opportunity to tour and promote the album in Latin America, North America and Europe. The current lineup, for the first time with a second guitarist, has Helena Kotina on guitars, Hel Pyre on bass and Michaela Naydenova on drums. The first three singles have already been released, but fans are waiting for the full album to hear what Nervosa 2023 sounds like.
After the end of a good run of summer festivals this year such as Summer Breeze, Wacken and Copenhell, Chaoszine spoke with Prika about the current moment of the band, her new role as vocalist, the roots of Brazilian metal and the production of the new album.
