“It’s best to do what feels right with your vocals” – Emmure’s Frankie Palmeri reveals his story as a metal vocalist

Author Arto Mäenpää - 27.10.2024

Frankie Palmeri is the frontman and founding member of the metalcore band Emmure, known for his aggressive vocal style, confrontational lyrics, and commanding stage presence. Since forming the band in 2003, Palmeri has been the driving force behind Emmure‘s distinctive sound, which blends metalcore with elements of deathcore and nu-metal. His intense, often controversial lyrics explore themes like personal struggle, inner rage, and societal issues, earning him a polarizing reputation within the metal community. Despite facing criticism and numerous lineup changes, Palmeri’s uncompromising vision has helped Emmure maintain a loyal fan base and become a prominent name in heavy music. His resilience, both as a vocalist and a bandleader, continues to fuel the band’s evolving sound and influence within the genre.

Emmure was touring Europe heavily in the summer of 2024 and Chaoszine sat down with Frankie Palmeri before the band’s show at Hellsinki Metal Festival in August 9th to discuss about his story as a metal frontman from the very early days until present and latest “Hindsight” album.
