Swedish metalcore outfit Adept is gearing up to release their long-awaited sixth studio album, “Blood Covenant”, on October 24th via Napalm Records. It’s been nearly a decade since their last full-length, “Sleepless” (2016), so expectations for the new material are high.
Formed in 2004, Adept quickly rose to the forefront of the Nordic metalcore scene, building an international following and performing at major festivals and tours worldwide. While the band has remained active on stage in recent years — even celebrating their 20th anniversary at Corefest in late 2024 — they’ve been silent on the recording front until now.
The band’s current lineup features vocalist Robert Ljung, guitarists Gustav Lithammer and Kasper Larcombe-Tronstad, bassist Filip Brandelius, and drummer Gabriel Hellmark. With renewed energy and vision, Adept promises that “Blood Covenant” will showcase their most intense and dynamic side to date.
Chaoszine sat down with frontman Robert Ljung over Zoom to talk about the making of the new record, the themes behind it, and what it feels like to return to the studio after almost ten years.
