Iron Maiden have been confirmed as the first headliner for the 2027 edition of Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival. The British heavy metal legends will take the stage on Friday, May 14, at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The four-day festival will take place from May 13 to 16, with nearly 150 bands expected to perform.
The announcement marks another North American appearance for Iron Maiden as they extend their 50th-anniversary Run For Your Lives Tour into 2027. The band recently completed a North American run across the United States and Canada and will return for a limited number of additional shows next spring. Their setlist will continue to focus on material from the group’s career-defining early decades.
The festival has already announced a number of other artists, including A Perfect Circle, Primus, Sleeping With Sirens, PRESIDENT, Clutch, Imminence, Saosin, PeelingFlesh, Crowbar, Emmure, Escape The Fate, Showing Teeth and Vana. The complete artist lineup is scheduled to be unveiled next week.
The festival’s 2026 edition sold out and attracted more than 184,000 attendees, according to organizer Danny Wimmer Presents. Nearly 145 bands performed across five stages. In addition to concerts, Sonic Temple features visual art installations and the Secret Walls live painting competition, in which artists create murals in front of festival audiences.
Four-day and single-day general admission passes are available in both field and stadium options. GA+, VIP, Rock Royalty and Columbus Owners Club packages are also on sale at early-bird rates, with payment plans starting at $1 down. Hotel packages, RV camping and transportation add-ons are available separately.
Danny Wimmer Presents has extended its agreement with Historic Crew Stadium through at least 2030, securing the festival’s future in Columbus. The organizer estimates the event’s economic impact on the region at more than $40 million.
The Iron Maiden announcement also coincides with the band’s newly revealed 2027 North American dates, which will conclude with headline appearances at Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock. Tickets and festival information are available through the official Sonic Temple website.
