Swedish post-hardcore/screamo outfit Intohimo are charging back with their new single “Honesty; In the Light of the Dead”. The band teased their comeback earlier in the year, and now the track is finally out with a matching video that leans into their familiar mix of raw emotion and sharp melodic tension.
The group formed in Jönköping in 2004, and they quickly became known for heartfelt chaos that blended metalcore grit with post hardcore intensity. Their name means passion in Finnish, and the new track shows they still live up to that meaning. The song moves with tight riffs and a wounded tone that grows heavier as it unfolds, while the vocals cut through with a sense of urgency that feels true to their early years.
Fans have waited a long time for new music, and this release sparks talk about what comes next. “Honesty; In the Light of the Dead” arrives with a sound that links the band’s past to a new chapter. It hits fast, and it carries enough weight to hint at more material on the horizon. Intohimo keep things intense, and the timing feels right for a return that might lead to a larger body of work.
The band can be seen live in Europe and UK supporting Adept on their 20-year anniversary starting this week. Also featured on the tour are Thousand Below and Ocean Sleeper.
