There’s being inconsiderate, and then there’s crossing a serious line. British authorities have arrested a man for allegedly stealing flowers left at a public memorial for Ozzy Osbourne in his hometown of Birmingham.

According to a BBC report, 45-year-old Parviz Jafari was taken into custody by West Midlands Police on August 2nd and charged with theft for allegedly removing flowers from the Black Sabbath bench on Broad Street. Following his arrest, Jafari is scheduled to appear before magistrates on September 3rd.

The Black Sabbath Bridge in Birmingham has transformed into an unofficial pilgrimage destination for metal fans worldwide, as they continue paying respects to Ozzy, who passed away at his home on July 22nd. Members of Ozzy’s family viewed the tributes at the bridge as his body was transported to its final resting place.

Now, with Ozzy properly laid to rest at his home in Buckinghamshire, Birmingham City Council has organized volunteers to collect the various items and tributes left for Ozzy, moving them to a secure location for photographing and documentation as part of a digital cataloging effort. This ensures the Osbourne family will maintain permanent access to a digital archive of everything fans left behind for the late metal legend.
