Ill Niño release new single with official video “Born To Suffer” (Nacido Pa Sufrir)

Ill Niño, a Latin nu metal band, recently released an official music video for their brand-new song, “Born To Suffer (Nacido Pa Sufrir)“, as per theprp. Since adding vocalist Tommy Roulette (Jynx) to their lineup last year, the song is their first to be released. This song was co-produced by Laz Pina and Dave Chavarri of the band. The film’s visual component was directed by Tom Flynn (Hatebreed, As I Lay Dying).

In May 1998, former Pro-Pain drummer David “Dave” Chavarri founded Ill Niño under the name El Niño. He hired bassist Christian Machado, guitarist Daniel Gomez, and Merauder vocalist Jorge Rosado. He also played percussion and drums. The band issued an EP of the same name with this configuration. Shortly after the EP’s publication, Gomez quit the group, and several guitarists took his place. Derek Sykes of Demolition Hammer, Scott Roberts of Biohazard, and future full-time member Marc Rizzo were among them. Sykes can also be heard on Grita Records’s collection album “Métalo!” in June 1999. The group changed their name to Ill Niño by April 1999.

Ill Niño was temporarily put on hold when Chavarri replaced Roy Mayorga in Soulfly during the Bring Da Shit Tour in July 1999. Following his return from tour, Chavarri made the decision to reorganise the band with a new lineup that included guitarists Marc Rizzo and Jardel Paisante, bassist Lazaro Pina, Roger Vasquez on additional percussion, and Machado switching from bass to lead vocals. They performed at the World Series of Metal festival in Ohio, earned recognition through the New Jersey metal college radio station WSOU, and opened for Kittie, Soulfly, and Snapcase the following year. In June 2000, they signed with Roadrunner Records and released an EP of the same name. After securing funding, they started recording their debut album in November 2000.

“Revolution Revolación”, Ill Niño‘s debut album, was released on September 18, 2001. Within the first two years of its release, the record sold over 350,000 copies worldwide. Guitarist Marc Rizzo and percussionist Roger Vasquez left the band in early 2003, right before Ill Niño was scheduled to record their next album.
