From now on, when people will ask me “What do you want to do when you grow up?”, I’ll answer “I want to be Ignacia Fernández”. Why? Well, because Decessus vocalist Ignacia Fernández has won the title of Miss Mundo Chile after making news recently for her exciting death metal performance during the Miss Mundo Chile (also known as Miss World Chile) quarterfinals, as reported by theprp.
Couldn’t be more happier and grateful! I take on this beautiful challenge with all the energy and heart put into representing my country in the best way
I promise to give it my all, with passion, labor and purpose.
Thank you for the worldwide recognition of my singing, a little piece of my soul that inspires me to keep growing and dreaming big.

In addition to being an unusual move for a national beauty competition, Fernández’s decision to perform an unreleased song from her progressive death metal band Decessus with guitarist Carlos Palma was undoubtedly a daring one.
Metal has been a fundamental part of who I am as a person and in my life: a refuge, a source of strength and purpose. Being able to express it on stage at @chilevision and @misschilemundo was an opportunity I deeply value.
It was a great experience to break down barriers on open television, inspire, be real with it and show that you don’t have to fear the prejudices of others.

Decessus is a Modern-Progressive Death Metal band founded by its vocalist Ignacia Fernández from Chile.
The band was created during the beggining of the pandemic that has affected us all during 2020.
In this period Ignacia has been working relentlessly with friends and session musicans from her hometown, in order to deliver material during this hard times.
