Ice Nine Kills addresses AI artwork controversy amid fan criticism
This weekend, Ice Nine Kills were the target of several critics due to the picture below that promoted their Memorial Day merchandise sale. The image, which purportedly was created by artificial intelligence, featured horror icons Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger from the respective “Friday the 13th” and “Nightmare on Elm Street” movie franchises grilling over a barbecue together. Unfazed by the commotion, Ice Nine Kills has since responded with a statement and even more obviously artificial intelligence-generated artwork in a follow-up post that has purposefully agitated the situation even more. It seems that the band was banned from the well-known subreddit r/metalcore because of their jab at Redditors.
