“I try to pay respect to all the previous guitarists in the band” – interview with Teemu Mäntysaari of Megadeth

Finnish metal music fans rubbed their eyes for a moment last September when the American thrash metal legend Megadeth named guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, known from Wintersun and Smackbound, to fill in for Brazilian Kiko Loureiro, who had taken a break from the band before the North American tour.

However, Loureiro’s break from the band became permanent due to family reasons, and thus Teemu Mäntysaari became a permanent member of the band, with Dave Mustaine praising him in several interviews.

Megadeth is currently touring Europe with festival gigs, and Kaaoszine went to meet Mäntysaari during the Mystic Festival in Gdansk, Poland, for a video interview.
