“I found my sound after many trial and errors” – Motionless In White’s Chris Motionless reveals his story as a metal vocalist

Chris Motionless, born as Chris Cerulli, is a highly talented and charismatic vocalist, best known as the front man of the American metalcore band Motionless In White. With his distinctive vocal style and commanding stage presence, Chris has established himself as a prominent figure in the metal scene.

Chris Motionless was born on October 17, 1986, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. From a young age, he exhibited a deep passion for music and began honing his skills as a vocalist. Chris drew inspiration from various genres, including metal, punk, and industrial music, which would later influence his unique vocal approach and the sound of Motionless In White which he co-founded in 2005.

Motionless In White released their debut album, “Creatures,” in 2010, which showcased Chris’s versatile vocal abilities ranging from aggressive growls and screams to melodic and haunting clean singing. Over the years, the band released several successful albums, including “Infamous” (2012), “Reincarnate” (2014), “Graveyard Shift” (2017), “Disguise” (2019) and “Scoring The End of The World” (2022) solidifying their place as one of the most popular metalcore bands on the planet.

Chris Motionless draws inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, including bands such as Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, and Korn. These influences can be heard in Motionless In White‘s music, as they incorporate elements of nu-metal, industrial, and gothic aesthetics into their sound. Chris’s continuous exploration and evolution as an artist have allowed him to push boundaries and experiment with new sounds, further diversifying the band’s sonic landscape.

Motionless in White played their first ever show in Finland at Tuska festival in Helsinki, Finland on July 1st and Chaoszine sat down with Chris Motionless before the band’s show to discuss about his life as a metal vocalist from the very early days of learning to scream to present.
