Volbeat are Denmark’s biggest rock export and one of the most unique acts in modern heavy music. Formed in Copenhagen in 2001 by frontman Michael Poulsen, the band quickly gained recognition for their hybrid sound. They merge elements of heavy metal, hard rock, and even rockabilly into a distinctive style. This set them apart from their peers. Alongside Poulsen, the lineup features drummer Jon Larsen, guitarist Flemming C. Lund, and bassist Kasper Boye Larsen.

Early years

Their early albums, including “Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil” (2007) and “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood” (2008), established them as rising stars across Europe. By the time they released “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies” in 2013, featuring massive hits like “Lola Montez”, Volbeat had already broken into the global mainstream. They were headlining festivals and selling out arenas worldwide. Their ability to craft infectious choruses while maintaining heavy riffs has become their signature. This appeals to both metal fans and rock audiences alike.

Latest album “God Of Angels Trust”

In 2024, Volbeat returned with their seventh studio effort, “God Of Angels Trust”, an album that continues their tradition of blending power and melody. It also includes cinematic storytelling. The record features standout tracks such as “Temple Of Fire”, “Storm Before The Calm”, and “Shine Eternal”. These songs have already become fan favorites in the band’s live set. Lyrically and musically, the album dives into themes of resilience, mythology, and the search for light amidst chaos. Produced with grand ambition, “God Of Angels Trust” has been praised as one of Volbeat’s most consistent and emotionally resonant works to date.

Live, Volbeat are an unstoppable force, known for high-energy shows that mix heavy riffing with singalong anthems. They have played to millions of fans across Europe, North America, and beyond. Their tours consistently rank among the most successful in heavy music. Their appeal lies not only in their powerful music but also in the sense of community and positivity. They foster this among their audience.

With God Of Angels Trust and their ongoing world tour, Volbeat reaffirm their place as one of the defining rock bands of their generation. Their influence continues to reach far beyond Denmark. Thus, proving that their unique blend of styles and powerful live presence still resonates strongly with fans across the globe.
