Metallica reaffirmed their dominance as the leading figures in thrash metal in 2025 through the disclosure of their Spotify wrapped statistics, as theprp reports. The Californian band, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, achieved a substantial presence in terms of streaming activity on the platform. They accumulated 2.2 billion streams of their catalog within the year, generated by 93.9 million listeners across 184 countries, resulting in approximately 185 million hours of playback. This volume of streaming equates to over 21,000 years of continuous listening, as noted by the band.
This remarkable figure is limited to their activity on a single digital service provider, highlighting the extensive reach of their music. Their most popular tracks on Spotify include “Enter Sandman,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Master of Puppets,” each surpassing one billion plays individually. “Enter Sandman” alone approaches 2 billion plays, with a current total of approximately 1,915,280,138 plays. Additionally, “One” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls” are among the band’s top five most streamed songs on the platform.

As always, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s foundation, All Within My Hands. Established in 2017 as a way to give back to communities that have supported Metallica over the years, All Within My Hands has raised over $20 million, providing $11.4 million in grants to career and technical education programs, including the ground-breaking Metallica Scholars Initiative, now in its seventh year, over $7.4 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $4.7 million to disaster relief efforts.
