Hooded Menace, the Finnish death-doom band, have released a second single titled “Pale Masquerade” from their upcoming album “Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration”, scheduled to drop on October 3rd via Season of Mist.
The track builds on the band’s signature blend of funeral tempos and horror-tinged atmosphere. It sets a chilling opening to the album—complete with misty keyboard tones and a doomy, march-like pace—serving as an ominous and cinematic plunge into horror-inspired doom.
Formed in Joensuu, Finland in 2007 and fronted by guitarist Lasse Pyykkö, Hooded Menace have long drawn influence from vintage horror films and classic doom acts. “Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration” continues this tradition, invoking imagery from the 1970s Spanish horror series The Blind Dead and layering crushing riffs, spectral keys, and guttural vocals that summon horror’s undead spirits back into the fray.
With “Pale Masquerade” now streaming, fans can expect more from this macabre, cinematic chapter when the full album arrives in October.
