Hollywood Undead go ghost hunting in Ohio prison on new Paranormal Prison episode

Members of Hollywood Undead have taken part in a paranormal investigation at the historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. The band appear in the fourth episode of season four of Paranormal Prison, the ghost-hunting video series produced by Loudwire and Danny Wimmer Presents.

The episode features Dany Rose Murillo, Jorel Decker and Dylan Alvarez, all of whom are open to the possibility of supernatural encounters. Hosts Josh Bernstein and Katrina Weidman guide the musicians through the former prison, explaining how the equipment is used and how the group should interpret possible responses.

The investigation was filmed during the 2026 Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival, which takes place on the grounds of the former prison. Ohio State Reformatory opened in 1896 and closed in 1990. The building also appeared in the film “The Shawshank Redemption” and has become a popular location for ghost-hunting productions.

One of the first unsettling moments arrives when a device known as the “dead bell” rings while Weidman is still explaining how it works. The group interprets the sound as a possible response to their instructions. Later, the musicians try to use the bell to identify a spirit by going through the alphabet one letter at a time.

Decker also recalls visiting an abandoned hotel in Arkansas that had once been run by an unlicensed doctor. He describes taking thousands of photographs in an area associated with stories about the spirit of a young boy and capturing an unusual image. Alvarez shares a childhood memory of seeing a mysterious woman, while Murillo remembers sensing a presence at the foot of his bed in a hotel.

The group eventually arrives at what they believe may be the name of a former prisoner. As with the rest of the series, the alleged paranormal encounters are presented as the participants’ interpretations rather than independently verified evidence.

The fourth season of Paranormal Prison features eight episodes released weekly on Loudwire’s YouTube channel. Earlier episodes featured Motionless In White, The Used and Lorna Shore. Upcoming guests include Starset, Get Scared, Guilt Trip and Alien Ant Farm.

Hollywood Undead are also preparing to return to Europe in early 2027. Their itinerary includes a February 11 concert in Helsinki, Finland. The band’s European and UK tour was announced earlier this month.
