German metalcore powerhouse Heaven Shall Burn has just unleashed a fresh single, and it’s a special one. The band has released a blistering cover of “Numbered Days”, originally by Killswitch Engage from their 2002 album “Alive or Just Breathing”. What makes this release even more exciting is the guest appearance from none other than Jesse Leach, the vocalist on the original version.
This cover will be featured on Heaven Shall Burn’s upcoming album “Heimat”, due out June 27th via Century Media. It’s the sixth single from the record, following up “Empowerment”, “Confounder”, “My Revocation of Compliance”, “Keinen Schritt zurück” (w/ Donots), and “Schweineherbst” (w/ Dÿse). A music video for the new track is set to drop later today.
The timing of the release couldn’t be more fitting. The band recently had to cut their Rock am Ring performance short after vocalist Marcus Bischoff suffered a sudden throat injury caused by an infection, which also forced the cancellation of their following shows. Since then, Bischoff has thanked fans for their support and confirmed that he’s on the mend.
But the show must go on—and Heaven Shall Burn is making sure it does. In a social media announcement, the band revealed that while Marcus is still recovering, Britta Görtz from Hiraes will be stepping in as vocalist for the upcoming shows in Kufstein and the following weekend. Marcus encouraged fans to give Britta a warm welcome and promised that these shows will be unforgettable moments in the band’s history.
